Mark Guildford, Principal Consultant and Director of Guildford Consulting
Mark has over 25 years’ experience in workplace health and safety roles, including 20 years as a firefighter (in paid and voluntary roles). His experience has spanned the industries of Mining (he worked at the Gina Reinhart mine in Roy Hill from its inception to the turning of the first soil), Construction and Wineries. This experience has involved contract work as a Health and Safety Trainer, with a particular emphasis on Emergency Planning including Emergency Evacuations.
Mark is very familiar with a wide range of Safety Equipment. He has worked full time for a large safety training and equipment supplier, thus he is able to provide practical advice on equipment that would be best practice to control risks and hazards in various workplaces. Mark is also a member and an instructor for the National Safety Council of Australia.
A safe workplace
Throughout his Health and Safety career Mark has seen that a number of businesses can have quality standard WHS operating procedures, but they often do not teach their workers about how to read, understand and implement those procedures. Hence Mark, has a particular passion about implementation being an active component of what a safe workplace is.
Mark brings a strong training focus to the consultancy with demonstrated success in this area including the facilitation of risk assessment and risk management.
Guildford Consulting partners with a range of other WHS consultants in areas of speciality depending on the needs of the business.
Guildford Consulting has had direct experience not only in the mining, construction and wineries industries, but also in aged care facilities and in schools. Mark is involved in training cadets in his local Barossa Valley community and he holds a Working with Children Safety Check and has completed Child Safe Environments Training.
